MEI / CBS Talent Award

We are awarding the CBS Talent Award to outstanding students currently enrolled in the CBS College Program.

We are pleased to announce the CBS Talent Awards, recognizing academic achievement and dedication to fostering intercultural environments and engagement in the CBS community. 

A total scholarship fund of €20,000 is available. The award consists of a scholarship to be used within the CBS College Program, credited toward the program fees. 8 scholarships of €2,500 each will be awarded.  Recipients will be selected based on their total score in the evaluation process outlined below. 

Who can apply?

Applicants must

  • be international students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering (International) program at KIT
  • participants of the CBS College Program during the 2026/27 academic year. 

Purpose of the Scholarship

The CBS Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence, an international mindset, and a commitment to building a diverse and supportive community.

Particular consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate:

  • Strong academic performance and potential;

  • Engagement in international and intercultural environments;

  • Commitment to an inclusive student community;

  • Initiative, leadership, and active involvement beyond the classroom;

  • Interest in serving as ambassadors for the CBS College Program and supporting future international students.

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated according to the criteria below, across three phases:

  • Application 
  • CBS Marketing Project
  • Ambassador Commitment 

Each criterion in the Application and CBS Marketing Project phases is scored individually, for a maximum total of 100 points. Completion of the Ambassador Commitment phase is a mandatory precondition for receiving the award and is not separately scored. The 8 applicants with the highest total scores will each receive a CBS Talent Award.

  Academic achievements
(successfully completed at least 15 ECTS for 2nd semester students or 50 ECTS for 4th semester students)

  Community engagement (e.g. Participation in at least 3 workshops/events offered by CBS in 2026) 15
CBS Marketing Project Participation in the CBS Media Day (date and time will be announced after you submitted your application) 20
  Ambassador Potential (enthusiasm, authenticity, fit for CBS) 10
Ambassador Commitment Commitment to complete at least three ambassador activities during 2027
(e.g. being part in Online Info Sessions or Campus Tours for interested students)

The decision of the selection committee is final; legal recourse is excluded.

Award and Disbursement

CBS Talent Award recipients will be announced during Orientation Week in October 2026 and honored at a scholarship ceremony in November 2026.

The award will be credited directly to the recipient’s CBS student account in two equal installments during the 2026/27 academic year. Payment of the second installment is subject to continued enrollment, satisfactory academic progress, and fulfillment of scholarship commitments.

* Applicants will have the opportunity to participate in a CBS Media Day, where the CBS Marketing Team will record a short testimonial/interview. Further information, including the available dates, time slots, location, and filming concept, will be announced after the application deadline.
